Google Maps now shows service alerts for the New York City Subway
The New York City subway system is quite an engineering feat with its 24-hour-per-day operation, 468 stations, 660 miles of track, and an annual ridership of 1.64 billion, but any New Yorker will tell you that frequent preventative maintenance can get in the way of all of that. Thankfully, starting today, it should be easier to avoid service cancelations and other issues now that Google has integrated MTA service alerts into Maps on Android and online.

I mean, Facebook is the worst iOS app on my phone. How many engineers and designers does it take to make a great app in a year? I think it’s a really small team and a few months. I think part of the reason nothing is happening is there are too many cooks in the kitchen.Acquisitions

I’m a big fan of Sublime Text. As with many Mac programmers, I started on TextMate and then migrated over once Sublime Text 2 was released. When I started, however, there were a lot of things that I didn’t know about ST, so I’ve compiled a list of basic things that are excellent time savers.

The Next Microsoft - journal - minimally minimal
Not another article about the “new” microsoft, but an official branding project. Questionable logotype but I can’t agree more that the color choice in Metro is terrible. It makes me sad looking at those dull colors.

AngularJS — Superheroic JavaScript MVC Framework
Another JS MVC framework from Google. The two-way data binding is killer.
Not related to the framework itself, but the documentation design is awesome. I love how I can hover on the code and get explanations.
